Today we made a German pizza quiche hybrid, actually called a zweibelkuchen.  I loved the look of it but when I started to make it, it was very big and looked a bit like Chicago pizza pie and I had doubts creeping in.  I needn't have worried however, everything about it was lovely, the dough although yes thick, was delicious and light and the quiche type filling just went perfectly.  Washed down with a little German beer for Rhona and weak shandy for me it was a perfect Friday evening.
