We still have cherries left over from picking and so I thought I would start to experiment with Christmas flavours with a crumble and so to our cherry crumble recipe we replaced the alcohol with half red wine, half brandy and added star anise and put some roughly crushed pistachios into the actual crumble making this a mulled wine cherry crumble.  As it was cooking it smelt so much of Christmas it was lovely, this is definitely one to remember and perfect for anybody that wants a nice and simple dessert at Christmas.  It also tasted fabulous and would work really well with plums which are in season at Christmas.

We then also cooked a keema cottage pie which was absolutely incredible.  It was so tasty and so moreish, honestly I could have eaten double the amount had I not wanted to be sensible.  It was more like a mild warming curry with beautiful turmeric spiced potatoes, a hug in a bowl rather than a strong curry.  Delicious. It was also super easy.
