My regular readers will remember that despite being able to make souffles and meringues, I cannot boil an egg.  It really is so ridiculous but is so true. 

This year I am determined to master the boiled egg and so we have been testing egg boiling methods to see which way is the most fool proof.  I think 1 more round of testing and we will be there.  Well at least I hope because 6 days in and I am sick of eggs.

The most reliable way seems to be to put the eggs into boiling water then reduce the heat only slightly and cook for 6 minutes - way longer than I had anticipated at the start of this.  We however have induction which I read on the Good Food website will increase cooking time.  So once I am happy with our testing I am going to have to employ testers who have electric and gas to check timings for them.
