The start of the New Year and it has been a really nice day.  I wanted the start of the New Year to have something special to eat and so I decided to make cheese soufflé followed by steak au poive and pavlova.

The gorgeous steak is super soft and buttery and the gravy is just amazing, it goes oh so well with mash too.  If you like steak then on a weekend when you have some time then you really do need to try it.  It needs veal stock which takes a few hours to cook but the good thing is you set it going and leave it so it is not taxing at all.

We have also been making ice creams and sorbets over the last week which has been really enjoyable, today was mango and lime sorbet which is so nice.
