I have just finished reading Lamingtons and Lemon Tarts by Darren Purchese and I have absolutely loved it.  I really love how he writes and there are so many gorgeous sounding recipes, many of which I have tagged. 

One of the best things are his recipes mostly have the same base ingredients, sometimes just with a flavour change. That means that you only have say 1 custard to master, or sponge or biscuit which really will help many people if baking/desserts are new to them. Especially as for most techniques there is an instruction page with step by step pictures. Watch out for my review.
