On Saturday Rhona bought a couple of food magazines for us to flick through and one of them had a few recipes that we thought would be nice to make. One of them was a cheeseburger sausage roll which not only looked interesting but actually goes with a blog I was planning on the cheeseburger.  This is different dishes with a cheeseburger flavour. I thought it might be a lot of fun.  So I was really interested to see how this would go.

Although the recipe itself was simple, there was just a little too much meat which meant you couldn’t get the seam that was mentioned.  Yes we could have scraped some out but by that point the pastry was folded over and our all butter puff was then soft and really being painful. Sometimes when I am making other people’s recipes I am so busy following them I sort of forget things I know. An example, cover the pastry with egg wash, I know if you egg wash both sides of pastry they won’t stick together - you do one side only.  Also, one you egg wash it is going to go soft. So the flavours were good but it will need tweaking a little before we were to do them again.
