I signed up on Vello to the GC Culinary school and made a start today.  I was quite excited to get started and week 1 is learning knife skills, so how to properly cut different things, what different cutting techniques are and how to care for your knives.  I have really enjoyed it and am looking forward to week 2 which is eggs (and the various breakfasts throughout the week that will have to follow).

I also have new bedtime reading in the form of Richard Bertinet’s crumb, a really interesting book all about bread.  This is definitely one to read and makes notes over the book as I go.  I have ordered a Kilner jar and will be attempting a sourdough starter when it gets here so watch this space for the trials and tribulations I am expecting.
