Victoria only has 4½ weeks left until her baby is due and so we were doing some batch cooking tonight so that when she doesn’t want to cook she has things she can just throw into the microwave or oven.  We made a shepherd’s pie, beef and chorizo stew and chicken pot pies.  Victoria has a magimix which really does speed up chopping and it is so easy.

We then made a Vietnamese salad for supper which was so so fresh and delicious and lovely for when it is hot.

Being there and cooking however reminded me of the importance of keeping your knives sharp, it really is a must because it makes cooking so much easier and so much safer.  With blunt knives you have to press harder which makes them much more dangerous. If you get into the habit of doing your knife each time you use it, you will be surprised the difference it makes.
