We had some leftover beef and some leftover sour cream from earlier in the week so made stroganoff today.  I bought a different brand of sour cream and honestly it just wasn’t good as the usual brand.  In fact it tasted more like yoghurt than sour cream and it behaved in a similar way to yoghurt and split very slightly. 

I make this dish a lot but just changing brand meant it took a lot of adjusting to get a good flavour and get it tasting right.  It just goes to show how changing 1 thing - like a brand - can have such a huge impact on a dish. 

Stroganoff is really good, full of paprika and it is just perfect for a cold day.
