So this morning was busy finishing the cooking and prepping and getting the garden set up but we did it just in the nick of time before everybody arrived. 

Our theme was royalty and so everybody came dressed up which was so much fun and we all laughed and laughed. We started with alcoholic and non-alcoholic pimms punch and some English crisps and nuts which was a great way to start and delicious.

Nicky came up with some fun games, which got the party started. It suddenly rained after we ate the starter and so there was a mad panic getting the gazebo up and the tables underneath but we managed to get it done and the show went on.  We thought we would eat over several hours with games between to hopefully stop anybody getting too drunk as we started fairly early on.

The food we had was:

Canapes:
Mini pork pies
Coronation chicken puffs
Ham, cheese and chive quiche

Starter:
Prawn cocktail with a pea salad

Main:
Slow cooked caramelised pork cheek, crispy pork belly, carrot purée, mash, jus and carrot pickles

Dessert:
A white chocolate and strawberry shell with strawberry coulis, vanilla mascarpone cream, fresh strawberries, strawberry sorbet, strawberry shortcake and popping candy

Everybody made such an effort dressing up and we had such fun.  We had such a fun time although I know I really will regret this tomorrow.
