There have been a few restaurants on my list for a long while now - largely it is a long while because of COVID but still it has been a long while and while I am still a lot COVID paranoid I still do think it is time we start carefully and slowly doing things.  Mere is one of those restaurants and at the day job I have been rewarded with a voucher for dinner at a restaurant of my choice for work I have undertaken on a project and so we chose Mere by Moncia Galetti. 

We started with cocktails, I had the globetrotter which was Pistachio vodka, Cointreau, chocolate liqueur and maple syrup and Rhona had the Day Dreaming.  We then had poppadum with mackerel, a sweet potato tart, butternut squash and potato terrine, scallop with a cannellini and black pudding ragu, steamed pollock with spinach pil pil sauce, sirloin with cavolo nero and mushrooms, cheese mouse with croutons and hokey pokey, a honeycomb kiwi dessert. 

The food was lovely, the restaurant beautiful and the staff wonderful.  A fantastic evening and a lovely restaurant.
