So tonight we tried a recipe from a new cookbook. The recipe looked lovely, beef ribs in a sticky sauce. The sauce did not reduce as much as I had hoped or become as sticky as the sauce looked in the picture.
I think I am a fairly good cook and even though we tried to boil it down it still did not go that sticky. I think maybe sugar in some form is missing as the picture looks super sticky and glossy. Anyway despite that it was delicious and because I pepped it up with cinnamon and cloves the whole house smelt like Christmas. Christmas ribs. We served them with buttered cabbage and rice - it was just lovely. Although if I am honest the buttery cabbage was the star.
